HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE PHAZE PHAMILY

May all your wintery days be filled with the warmth of family, togetherness, and incredibly hot sex with your Secret Santa! We at Phaze are especially excited about the "coming" season of giving, and are happy to give our readers the sexiest winter-themed erotic romance available in eBook format. Our Snugglers have taken off faster than Santa's reindeer after a stop at Starbucks! We are so pleased our readers are enjoying these sensual tales of vivacious heroines and amorous hunks who keep out the cold, and keep each other very warm indeed! Within a week of release, we learned Susan DiPlacido's Twas the Night After Christmas received top ratings in erotica at Fictionwise, while Jade Falconer's Cold Hands, Warm... became a FW bestseller! Here hoping these fine authors, and everybody in the extended Phaze "Phamily" (our readers, authors, editors and artists) all find something special under the tree this year. If that special something has cold hands, well, there are ways to remedy that!

HOT SIX WITH...LEIGH AND BRIDGET

Leigh Ellwood is one of Phaze's prolific authors and the creator of Dareville, a town where everybody leaves their inhibitions at the state line! The latest installment of this popular series, A Winter's Dare, is now available. Bridget Midway, meanwhile, is catching up to Leigh with a few Phaze titles on the shelf. Her latest with Phaze, C-A-I-N and A-B-E-L, is a steamy trip into the future with cyber-hunks who know how to fight...and love.

LEIGH

1) Have you been a good girl this year? Are you kidding? How do you think I keep coming up with stories to write?
2) Who do you want to see wearing nothing but your stocking?
Mmm, would have to say it's a two-way tie between Hugh Laurie and Orlando Bloom. Can I have two stockings?
3) How are we coping with relatives over the holiday?
Lots of Southern Comfort egg nog, heavy on the Comfort. Not so much nog.
4) Pick a Phaze author as your Secret Santa. What is your gift?
I would give Robin Slick what she wants: Neil Gaiman's home phone number.
5) How do you stay warm on winter nights?
A combination of answers 2&3, and batteries.
6) What would you give the world this holiday season?
Peace, love, and multiples.

BRIDGET

1) Whose lap would you like to sit on this year? You mean besides my man? Hmmm, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or former President Bill Clinton. You know I have a thing for the former Prez.
2) Are there any holiday traditions you observe?
A good friend of mine always celebrates this made-up holiday around Christmas called Ramahanumas. Other than his hysterical newsletter that goes along with it, I have no idea what's involved, but I do observe it. I think drinking is involved. If not, it does now.
3) Have you ever "regifted" at Christmas?
Do I have to admit that? Actually I "regifted" for a contest I ran. I get A LOT of promo stuff when I go to conferences and workshops. So I sent the winner not only what I promised but also a lot of the items I picked up. I'm just spreading the love.
4) Any embarassing office party stories to tell?
Going to one this Saturday. I'll have to let you know.
5) Pick a Phaze author as your Secret Santa. What is your gift?
Anna Fallon. Okay, Anna. I'll let you play with "The Rock". Just don't break him! I know how rough you can be.
6) What are you looking forward to in 2007?
Sleep! Haa! Haa! Aside from that, writing more interesting stories and seeing Phaze grow bigger, better and brighter.

Can you believe it? We've hardly put a dent in the Snugglers releases, and already people are clamoring for the Fetishes! This line of extraordinarily delicious BDSM romance will start whipping readers into shape in late January. HEY GOOD LOOKING, WHATCHA GOT COOKING?

The urban legend goes that the average person packs on five pounds over the holiday season. We've done a bit of research, though, and it appears it more like one or two pounds. That doesn't mean, though, you should go hog wild this year. Leigh Ellwood tells us when the weather gets cold she gets out the big pot for a batch of her father's award-winning chili. It's a versatile recipe that can use lean meat, so you can enjoy a bowl or two without guilt!

Doc B's Chili - serves 8-12 - Leigh Ellwood
www.LeighEllwood.com

1lb. lean ground beef
1 medium onion
1 can tomato sauce
1 can red kidney beans
1 T. mild chili powder
1 t. hot chili powder
1 bay leaf
1 t. oregano
1 t. garlic powder
1 T. cumin
1 t. black pepper
1 T. soy sauce
1 T. Worchestershire sauce
1/4 t. Liquid Smoke
1 T. sugar
1 T. flour (optional for thicker chili)
cayenne pepper to taste

Brown meat in large pot with chopped onion. Add tomato sauce and kidney beans with 1/2 cup water. Add Liquid Smoke and all dry ingredients. Bring to a boil, then set to low and simmer for an hour or more.

The Ellwood clan says this chili is best served over macaroni or corn bread. It freezes well, and tastes even hotter the next day. Add a dash of Tabasco or Mexene for a harder kick!

After enjoying a bowl of hot chili on a winter's night, you have to have dessert. Now, all the ladies and gents of Phaze know what to do when a situation calls for something sweet, sexy and sinfully delicious. Robin Slick gets into baking mode with this special Christmas cookie recipe:

Secret Kisses by Robin Slick
Yields 3 dozen cookies

1 C unsalted butter
2 C confectioners' sugar (one cup for the recipe, one cup set aside in a bowl for dipping when the cookies are out of the oven)
1 t. vanilla
1 3/4 C flour
1 C chopped pecans
1 bag Hershey's kisses or milk chocolate Wilbur buds

Cream together butter, one cup of confectioner sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add flour and pecans, beat on low speed of electric mixer until blended. Refrigerate dough about one hour or until firm enough to handle. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Using approximately a tablespoon of dough for each cookie, shape dough around unwrapped Kiss, roll to make a ball (so basically, the Hershey kiss is hidden inside the dough ball). The balls should be small, just enough to cover each kiss but make sure they are covered completely. Place on cookie sheet - these don't spread so you can bake a lot on one sheet - and bake them for about 12-15 minutes. They do not brown on top and stay white so you have to check the bottom -- as soon as the bottom is golden, take them out of the oven. While they are still warm, roll them in remaining cup of confectioner suger (which you should have in a bowl). When they cool, roll them in confectioner sugar again.

If you can find milk chocolate Wilbur buds instead of Hersey kisses, they come out even better. There's nothing like biting into this cookie and getting that gooey chocolate surprise in the center. Very very sensual.
